On January 27, at the art gallery Rakurs took place a literary creative meeting within the framework of the opening of a book and illustration exhibition “Great talent, great work, great heart”.


The meeting was dedicated to the winners of the Prize “For Spiritual Renaissance” and the President’s of the Republic of Belarus Special Prize for Art and Cultural Workers 2010.

The Prize “For Spiritual Renaissance” and the President’s of the Republic of Belarus Special Prize are awarded annually for outstanding works of art and literature and selfless humanitarian activities for development and consolidation of spiritual values.

The National Library of Belarus has prepared the traditional exhibition of sources from its collections dedicated to laureates whose artistic skills and fruitful work are the pride of our country. The exposition includes books, visual materials (posters, photos and postcards), printed music, periodicals and electronic editions.

Director of the National Library of Belarus Roman Motulsky welcomed the guests of the event and the winners of the Prize “For Spiritual Renaissance” and the President’s of the Republic of Belarus Special Prize for Art and Cultural Workers 2010.

Guests of the event familiarized themselves with the laureates and learned about their activity, projects, plans and achievements. Within the framework of the meeting, the honored amateur ensemble of the Belarusian song “Tsernitsa” of Minsk Railwaymen’s Palace of Culture and Sport and bayan-players Piotr Voychenko and Valery Rulev from L.L. Ivanov Folk Instrumental Orchestra of Mogilev Regional Philharmonic Society performed songs and musical compositions.

The book and illustration exhibition “Great talent, great work, great heart” runs in the National Library of Belarus (in the circular hall on the third floor) up to February 27.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
