This year marks the 75th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Belarusian composer, People's Artist of Belarus, Knight of the Order of Francysk Skaryna, Eduard Zaritsky. The transfer of the author's manuscript heritage to the collections of the National Library of Belarus has become a real gift for the world music community.
The event took place on April 21 and was timed to coincide with World Book and Copyright Day.
The property rights to use E. Zaritsky's music manuscripts in the information resources of the National Library were transferred by the composer's daughter Lina Litz.
All those present paid tribute to the memory of Eduard Zaritsky, the author of the music for more than 600 songs, which were performed by famous singers from the Belarus and Russia. The composer also wrote music for performances, films and musicals, created cycles of works based on poems by Adam Mitskevich, Yakub Kolas and Vladimir Karatkevich. He is the author of symphonies, suites, concertos for oboe and French horn. The song "This is how victory came to us" is played annually over Victory Square in Minsk on May 9.
An exemplary choir of the senior classes "Decima" under the direction of Alexei Klimovich of the Children's Music School of Arts No. 10 named after E.A. Glebova opened the event with the song “The choir our unity”.
Roman Motulsky, Director General of the National Library of Belarus, addressed the participants of the action with a welcoming speech.
Vladimir Provalinsky, Honored Artist of Belarus, Olga Brilon, the member of the Belarusian Union of Composers, Tatyana Panova, the artistic director of the creative workshop of pop art "Khvilinka", Vladimir Loy, the director of the international public youth choir association "Kamerton", Lyudmila Polkovnikova, music TV journalist, radio and TV editor, spoke kindly at the event.
The guests were able to familiarize themselves with the exhibition, which presented materials about his life and work.
