On January 19, 2018 a ceremony of donation of facsimile edition “The Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna” (volumes 12 to 21) took place in the Library of Congress of the United States. The first 11 volumes were donated in August 2016.

The publication was donated to the library by Charge d’Affaires, a.i. of Belarus in the United States, Pavel Shidlovsky, on behalf of the Director of the National Library of Belarus, Roman Motulsky. Representatives of the Library of Congress and the Belarusian Diaspora took part in the event.

In his statement Pavel Shidlovsky noted the contribution of Francysk Skaryna to developing international book printing and successful completion of the all-Belarusian project on facsimile reproduction of Skaryna’s book heritage.

Chief of European Division of the Library of Congress, Grant Harris, who accepted the publication on behalf of the Library, thanked the Belarusian side and noted the effort to spread the information on book printing.

On the occasion of the event, the Belarusian representatives were given an opportunity to view rare editions dedicated to Francysk Skaryna, as well as to the 400th and 450th anniversaries of Eastern European book printing.
