On January 16, the National Library of Belarus hosted a round table "Spirituality and Culture: Traditions and Modernity".
The theme of the event is the joint activity of culture and Orthodoxy in the field of development, restoration and protection of historical and cultural heritage, creative activities that contribute to the successful creation of a unified educational space.
The participants discussed various aspects of spirituality and culture, including their interrelationship, impact on society, preservation of national traditions and modern challenges. Issues such as the role of culture in the formation of national identity, the influence of spirituality on the development of society, the preservation and transfer of cultural heritage to future generations were raised.
The National Library has been cooperating with the Belarusian Orthodox Church for many years and always strives to widely present the value of the book, directing efforts at spiritual and moral education and upbringing.
During the round table, Director General of the National Library of Belarus Vadzim Hihin and Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavsky, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus Veniamin signed an agreement on cooperation between the National Library of Belarus and the Belarusian Orthodox Church.
The subject of the document was career guidance, publishing, educational activities and spiritual and moral education in order to strengthen ties between the parties, assist in the implementation of joint projects in the field of book promotion, and attract a wide range of readers to reading.
The round table allowed the participants to exchange opinions, experiences and ideas, as well as find ways to cooperate and create joint projects in the field of spirituality and culture. The event helped to draw public attention to the importance of preserving and developing spiritual and cultural values.
