On January 17, the Panorama gallery of the National Library hosted the grand opening of the unique BELTA photo exhibition "Parallel worlds".

The exhibition features archival footage that reflects two worlds: the world of creation and development and the world of destruction and degradation. An analysis of the last few decades – a very small, but such an important segment of the history of sovereign Belarus – shows that such parallel worlds really exist and can exist simultaneously.


The event was attended by Vadzim Hihin, Director General of the National Library of Belarus, Irina Akulovich, Director General of BELTA, Olga Chemodanova, Head of the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Andrey Krivosheev, Chairman of the Board of the Belarusian Union of Journalists, Alexey Avdonin, analyst at the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Chairman Oleg Gaidukevich of the Liberal Democratic Party, Sergey Musienko, head of the ECOOM analytical Center, Olga Lazorkina, analyst at the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies.

The photo exhibition "Parallel Worlds" will run from January 17 to January 21, 2024. The exposition will not leave anyone indifferent and will be interesting to everyone, regardless of age and field of activity. No unnecessary words, just photos – captured events, actions, emotions.


From January 17 to 21, the observation deck of the National Library of Belarus will be open for free access. This is a great opportunity for everyone to get acquainted with the photo exhibition and enjoy the scenery of the winter capital.

The mode of operation of the exhibition corresponds to the mode of operation of the observation deck.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

On April 25, the National Library of Belarus hosted the opening of the exhibition "Dreams about Belarus", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders and the 85th anniversary of the birth of People's Artist of Belarus Vasily Sharangovich.
