On May 3, the Royal National Library of the Netherlands (the Hague) hosted the presentation and ceremony of donation of the facsimile Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna.
The multi-volume facsimile Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna was presented by the Director of the National Library of Belarus Roman Motulsky. In his speech, he noted the importance of the unique publication, the preparation of which took five years, for Belarus and the entire world community. The international publishing project on the reconstruction of the book heritage of the Belarusian first printer was carried out jointly with the Bank of BelVEB and became the core of the jubilee events dedicated to the 500th anniversary of Belarusian printing.
After the presentation, Roman Motulsky gave the valuable multi-volume publication to the Deputy Director General of the Royal National Library of the Netherlands Mark van den Berg.
Within the framework of the meeting, the Dutch side presented editions from the collections of the main library of the Netherlands, related to the activities of Erasmus of Rotterdam and the translation of the Bible into Dutch in the Middle Ages. The Netherlands collection was presented by Ms. Marijke van Delft.
The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Kingdom of the Netherlands Nikolai Borisevich and the adviser on political, consular and protocol issues Nikolai Kernozhitsky.
