From 26 to 28 September, the director of the National Library of Belarus Roman Motulsky participated in the 7th International science and practical seminar "The faces of memory. The latest technology of preservation and reconstruction of hand-written and printed heritage" in Yerevan.

Within the framework of the seminar, Roman Motulsky read a report ”The activity of the National Library of Belarus for the preservation of historical and cultural heritage” and took part in a ceremony of donation of the multivolume facsimile edition The Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna to the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts “Matenadaran”, the initiator and organizer of the event. Restores, employees of libraries and museums, archivists and specialists in the latest technologies exchanged experience and knowledge using the Matenadaran’s richest collection of printed books and manuscripts.

Also on 25 September Roman Motulsky presented at the National Library of Armenia the international scientific and research project “The Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna” and donated them the 21-volume facsimile edition.

The national five-year project on the facsimile reprint of the book heritage of Francysk Skaryna started in 2013. Its main implementers are the National Library of Belarus and the Bank BelVEB. Thanks to their joint efforts and close partnership, on the 500th jubilee of the Belarusian book-printing the heritage of Francysk Skaryna appeared in a single collection of facsimile editions to become the highlight of anniversary events that took place all over the world.

The National Library of Armenia also received a set of books as part of the programme “Belarus Today”, which has been implemented by the National Library of Belarus since 2010. The National Library of Armenia acquired Belarusian publications about social life, economy and policy of Belarus, its centuries-old history and culture, as well as books-winners of the national competition “The Art of Books” and other prizes: the best fiction, scientific and popular scientific editions, encyclopedias, reference books and photo albums.
