The celebrations of the 500th anniversary of Belarusian book-printing were held in Kaliningrad and Baltiysk (the Russian Federation), on 21– 23 October.
The events were attended by the deputy director of the National Library of Belarus, Alexander Susha, and the chair of the Belarusian Cultural Community in Kaliningrad, Igor Shakhovich.
Alexander Susha donated to the library of the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University the 21-volume facsimile The Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna. The publishing project was implemented by the joint effort of the National Library of Belarus and the BelVEB Bank.
Mr. Susha told in detail about the educational and publishing activities of Francysk Skaryna, and the events that took place in Belarus on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of Belarusian book-printing, which was included in the UNESCO calendar as an event of global importance.
