On December 9th, 2009, in the Gallery “Labyrinth” there took place the presentation of an electronic edition “The Khreptovichs’ library”.
The virtual reconstruction the Khreptovichs’ book collection has been realized owing to cooperation of National Library of Belarus and V.I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine and the support of the UNESCO.
The electronic edition “The Khreptovichs’ library” is dedicated to the patrimonial library of counts Joachim Litavor Khreptovich and Adam Khreptovich, the outstanding state, military, political and religious figures. The book collection was being formed during the XVІІІ-ХІХ centuries; now it totals over 2 000 copies of books and is kept in V.I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine.
In the event participated: I.D. Likhovy, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Belarus; V.G. Schasny, the chairman of the National Commission of Belarus for UNESCO; L.G. Kiryukhina, the deputy director for scientific work and public relations of National Library of Belarus; L.V. Mukha, the deputy director of V.I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine; G.V. Kireeva, the head of bibliology department of National Library of Belarus; G.I. Kovalchuk, the head of incunabula and rare publications department of V.I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, and V.A. Gilep, the chairman of the Belarusian Fund of Culture.
Visitors enjoyed musical performances of the theatre of dance “Freski” and the variety studio “Natali” of the Minsk State Palace of Children and Youth.
Within the framework of the presentation, the electronic edition “The Khreptovichs’ book collection” was handed to V.I.Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, the National Commission of Belarus for UNESCO, the Embassy of Ukraine to the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian Fund of Culture, and Y. Kolas Central Scientific Library of National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
