On 28 and 30 September, the deputy director of the National Library of Belarus Tatiana Kuzminich is participating in the 5th Baku International Book Fair and the international science conference.


The grand opening of the 5th Baku International Book Fair was attended by the Azerbaijan Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garaev and the Vice Prime-Minister of the Azerbaijan Republic Elchin Efendiev on 28 September.

The National Library of Belarus presented an exhibition of books by Belarusian publishers reflecting the socio-economic life of the country, its centuries-old history and rich culture. The exhibition is focused on the multivolume facsimile The Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna. This project had been initiated by the National Library of Belarus and the Bank BelVEB and finished this year within the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the Belarusian book-printing.

On the first day of the exhibition the guests made a tour to the largest Azerbaijan libraries in Baku. Tatiana Kuzminich became acquainted with the experience in the development of information resources at the National Library of Azerbaijan, the Presidential Library of the Administrative Department of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.

On 29 September, Tatiana Kuzminich takes part in the International science conference New challenges, new ideas and new demands for libraries: books, reading, innovation with a report Corporate formation of the resource base for Belarusian libraries as a condition of their successful development.

A ceremony of donation of the facsimile edition The Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna and the Belarusian books presented at the exhibition to the National Library of Azerbaijan will take place within the framework of the visit.
