On December 15, a solemn ceremony of presentation of the facsimile of the Slutsk Gospel to the National Library of Belarus and all Belarusian libraries as a gift from the Belarusian Exarchate Publishing House took place.


This event was organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian Orthodox Church and the National Library of Belarus within the framework of the project “Sacred objects return”.

In 2009 the Belarusian Exarchate Publishing House prepared and published the facsimile of the Slutsk Gospel which is a copy of the hand-written monument of the 16th century. This is a unique, excellently made edition that has no analogs in Belarus. For publication of Slutsk Gospel, and also for spiritual and education activities the Belarusian Exarchate Publishing House received the President of the Republic of Belarus Award “For Spiritual Renaissance”, the higher awards of the National Contest “The Art of a Book – 2010” and the International Contest The Art of a Book – 2010” among the CIS member countries in Moscow.

Director of the Belarusian Exarchate Publishing House priest Evgeni Labynko delivered a welcoming speech. During the solemn event member of the editorial board of the Russian Orthodox Church and chief executive of Belarusian Exarchate Publishing House Vladimir Grozov presented the facsimiles of the Slutsk Gospel to director of the National Library of Belarus Roman Molulsky and to directors of major Belarusian libraries.

Guests of the event watched a documentary film dedicated to the republican spiritual and educational program “Family-Unity-Fatherland” and saw a musical theatrical presentation of the Slutsk Gospel performed by the chamber spiritual theater “Sputnik Khristianina” (“Christian’s Companion”), and a performance of the celebrated male choir “Blagovest” of theBelarusian Exarchate Publishing House.

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
