The cultural-enlightening project On a Visit to Books:
is implemented through cultural-enlightening lessons for children in the Book Museum of the National Library of Belarus;
is aimed at the development of the interest to books and reading, popularizing of the national book heritage.
The project goals are to draw children’s attention to the library and the museum, to develop love to books, to stimulate reading activities, to form pride for achievements and rich traditions of the domestic book culture.
The uniqueness of the lessons is in the opportunity to study the national book heritage with the help of the richest collection of book monuments. Visitors will get acquainted with centenarians of the book culture, including editions 100, 200, 300, 400 and even 500 years old.
Lessons employ active and interactive techniques, and it means that meetings turn into an interesting discussion, where everyone takes part. Children will enjoy funny creative tasks and games. The aim of lessons is not only to reveal scientific facts, but also to captivate by a topic, so that children acquired a desire to read and learn new things.
The museum lessons are for 5–17-year old children.
One lesson costs 4.50 (four rubles fifty coins) and lasts 60 minutes.
