Activity
Main tasks of the department:
- Organizing the information and library services for library users
- Providing the reference and bibliographic services for users
- Generating subsidiary funds of the department's reading rooms
- Ensuring the safety of library documents and creating the necessary conditions for their use
- Generating information culture of users
- Carrying out the scientific and methodological work on the department's activity profile.
Department functions:
- Proving service of users with documents from the main library fund, specialized subsidiary funds of the department and the received under the interlibrary subscription
- Providing access to electronic information resources;
- Compiling specialized subsidiary funds, their organization, rational placement, accounting
- Conducting systematic work to ensure the safety of funds
- Consulting users on the operation with information resources
- Studying information needs and development of information culture of users
- Providing additional services to library users according to the Price list
- Studying and implementing new high-performance information technologies, principles of scientific organization of work
- Participating in the library's research and methodological activities on the issues related to information and library services for users
- Participating in arrangement for the evenings and meetings with scientists, cultural figures and artists (together with other departments of the library)
- Systematic informing of users about new arrivals to subsidiary funds, organization of thematic and anniversary exhibitions in the department's reading rooms, compiling of informational materials.
