But the words in the title of today's exhibition - "For a human to live like a human…" (a quote from the work of Ivan Melezh) are characteristic of the work of both writers. Each of them left a significant mark on the national culture. While preparing the exhibition, we paid attention to their most iconic novels, tried to show not only publications that were published in Belarus, but also outside our country, including in translations into other languages.

Ms Natalia Sharangovich, the First Deputy Chairman of Public Association “Belorussian Union of Artists”, an art critic, reminded one of the special features of the exposure:

“Our traditions of the literature and art were always combined and united. This allows us to look deeper into our culture.  In addition to the works of iconic Belarusian writers, the exhibition contains illustrations of those artists who have also become classics today. For example, linocuts by Natalia Poplavskaya for the novel "People in the Swamp" by Ivan Melezh. She made them as a graduate work while still a student. We recently celebrated her 90th birthday”.
