On May 30, the library hosted the opening of the exhibition "Collection of Graphics", which demonstrates a panorama of modern Belarusian art, united by a high level of professional skill of the authors.

The exposition includes book and easel graphics, prints, bookplates, etc., reflecting the current cross-section of modern graphic techniques, genres, themes and author's inventions, emphasize the significant role of the formation of graphic collections in Belarusian culture and the development of fine art.

"Collection of Graphics" presents works by experienced and young authors, members of the Belarusian Union of Artists, teachers of art specialties of Belarusian universities and schools, winners of dozens of awards and participants of hundreds of Belarusian and foreign exhibitions, the artists like Taisiya Borisova, Gennady Vyal, Valeriya Zhilinskaya, Vladislav Kvartalny, Olga and Yuri Krupenkov, Marina Moroz, Sofia Piskun, Viktor Savchenko, Gleb Sidorenko, Evgenia Tymoshenko, Fedor Shurmelev.

The works impress with exquisite craftsmanship, surprise with the depth of artistic solutions. A significant part of the exhibition is devoted to book graphics created based on famous literary plots. The exhibition includes lithographs dedicated to Lewis Carroll's fairy tale "Alice in Wonderland", etchings featuring canonical religious and biblical stories, ancient Greek myths and even the adventures of the world-famous archetype knight of the sad image of Don Quixote, created by novelist Miguel de Cervantes. The exhibition includes works dedicated to Russian folk and European author's fairy tales: "The Swan Princess", "Little Red Riding Hood", "The Battle of Mice and Toys". The city sketches, amazing plots of compositions, the light of fairy-tale life are extremely beautiful. Gentle exlibrises in mezzotint, aquatint, lithography, etching and mixed techniques dedicated to collectors, significant personalities of Belarusian and world culture do not leave anyone indifferent.

Each of the works of the exhibition can proudly complement the most highborn, tasteful world collections. The exhibition "Collection of Graphics" presents author's masterpieces, achievements, inventions and experiments, which are the basis of the modern history of Belarusian art.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by Deputy director general of the National library of Belarus Viktor Przybytko; art critic, art director of the author's non-profit conceptual gallery "Brama", member of the Belarusian Union of Artists and the Belarusian Union of Designers Larisa Finkelstein; artist, printer of the Art Combine, member of the Belarusian Union of Artists Viktor Savchenko; graphic artist, member of the Belarusian Union artists, senior lecturer of the department "Drawing, Watercolor and Sculpture"of the Faculty of Architecture of the Belarusian National Technical University Olga Krupenkova.

The exhibition will work until October 18, 2023.
The completion date of its work can be changed.

The opening hours of the exhibition correspond to the Library opening hours.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.
