From 18 December 2013 to 14 January 2014, a book exhibition "New Year's Serpentine" runs in the National Library of Belarus (2nd floor, circular corridor).

Christmas and New Year are our favorite holidays, a time of joyful expectation of miracles, when the world becomes a little better. All bad things have forgotten, and people begin to believe in a fairy tale.

A bright and colorful book exposition tells about the history of the holidays, Christmas and New Year traditions, folk sayings and beliefs.

Christmas is one of the main Christian holidays devoted to the birth of Jesus Christ.

A main art of the exposition is modern editions about Christmas celebrations in Belarus, Russia, France, Germany, Canada and other countries.

Next year on the Eastern calendar is Year of the Horse. A lot of publications are devoted to this mythological character. Some of them can be seen at this book exhibition.

A festive interior, Christmas treats and entertainment create magical Christmas atmosphere. If you visit the exhibition, you will learn how to decorate your apartment, to present original gifts to friends and family, to make your own masks, souvenirs and Christmas ornaments. Ideas of professional decorators and writers will help lay the table and organize a memorable, full of fun, surprises and competitions holiday.
