Mr Anatoly Kalinin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Moldova, solemnly handed over to the National Library of the Republic of Moldova a collection of Belarusian publications prepared by the National Library of the Republic of Belarus within the framework of the Belarus Today project on November 12.

In his speech, Mr Kalinin highly appreciated the level of bilateral cooperation that has developed between Belarus and Moldova, the basis of which is mutual respect, support and friendship. He emphasized his interest in further developing cooperation in the political, economic, humanitarian and other spheres.

The international project “Belarus Today” has been successfully implemented by the National Library of Belarus in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture since 2010. The collection includes the best literary and artistic, scientific, popular science publications, encyclopedias, reference books and photo albums.

Collections of Belarusian publications have already been donated to twenty-three largest libraries in the world.

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
