The conference of the Ukrainian Library Association started yesterday. The event has a rich program and will take place on November 19-20 online.

The annual conference of the Ukrainian Library Association is an innovative platform for summing up the work and elaborating promising areas, for the professional growth of those who are engaged in the library, bibliographic and information activities, and for all interested.

At the opening of the conference, the participants were greeted by:

  • Ms Oksana Bruy, President of the Ukrainian Library Association

  • Ms Alexandra Koval, Director of the Ukrainian Book Institute

  • Ms Bettina Wenzel, Head of the "Information and Library" Department at Goethe-Institut Ukraine

  • Ms Inna Yurik, Director of the Scientific Library of the Belarusian National Technical University, Head of the Council of the Belarusian Library Association

  • Ms Tatiana Sapego, Head of the Scientific and Project Activities Sector of the National Library of Belarus, a participant in the project "Create Culture: Library Innovative Services"

The conference program includes topical expert presentations, project presentations, professional discussions and exchange of ideas.

Tandem of inspiration

The book-illustrative exhibition "Tandem of Inspiration" is on show in the Fine Arts Reading Room (room 306) from January 15 to February 22. The exhibition dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of Belarusian artists Georgy Poplavsky (1931-2017) and Natalia Nikolaevna Poplavskaya (1931).

In memory of the “pyasnyar” of Belarus

January 12 marks the 80th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Mulyavin – musician, composer, founder of VIA Pesnyary. For the anniversary of the artist, an exhibition “In memory of the songwriter of Belarus” has been prepared, which is open in the Music and Audiovisual Documents Reading Room (room 305) until January 31.
