Music Heritage of Rzeczpospolita from Russian National Library

On 29 March at 5 p.m. at the gallery “Labyrinth” takes place a concert-presentation of a series of music books “Music Heritage of Rzeczpospolita from Russian National Library”.


The event has been prepared by the National Library of Belarus and the publishing house “Chetyre Chetverty”.

The series was founded in 2008 by composer and researcher, associate professor at the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts Evgeni Poplavsky. 10 music books have been actually published.

Thanks to the series “Music Heritage of Rzeczpospolita from Russian National Library” classical music lovers can learn more about the musical culture of Rzeczpospolita of the 17th–19th centuries, can see an exceptionally interesting monument of culture of the 17th – early 18th centuries “Davydkovsky Irmologion” and rediscover the musical heritage of composers Anton Abramovich, Napoleon Orda, Florian Milodovsky, Yuzef Ignatsy and Kayatan Krashevsky, Konstantin Gorsky, Aleksandr and Mikhail Yelsky.

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
