On December 12th, at 4 p.m. a presentation of Tatiana Orlova’s book “Theatrical Criticism of the Modern Age” is held in the gallery “Labyrinth”.


“Theatrical Criticism of the Modern Age” is a living history of Belarusian theatrical culture represented by portraits of authors and directors, theatrical reviews, essays and scientific papers.

Tatiana Orlova is Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Institute of Journalism of the Belarusian State University (BSU). She graduated from the BSU journalism sector, worked at the newspaper “Znamya Yunosti” and the Belarusian Soviet Encyclopedia. After post-graduate course in the Institute of fine art, ethnography and folklore of the BSSR Academy of Sciences since 1972 she has worked at the BSU faculty of journalism. Tatiana Orlova is a winner of the Literary Prize named after Kondrat Krapiva, author of 14 books including “Theatrical Journalism”, “Teacher D.A. Orlov” and others.

We present the updated virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region": on the 205th anniversary of the composer's birth

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

On April 25, the National Library of Belarus hosted the opening of the exhibition "Dreams about Belarus", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders and the 85th anniversary of the birth of People's Artist of Belarus Vasily Sharangovich.
