On 19 December, at 4 p.m., a literary event "The ball devoted to the bard from Novogrudok" dedicated to the works of Adam Mickiewicz (1798–1855) will be held at the gallery Labyrinth.


This event "The ball devoted to the bard from Novogrudok" in honor of Adam Mickiewicz is a tribute that the National Library of Belarus gives to our famous compatriot. At the event it will be possible to meet interesting people and lovers of Adam Mickiewicz’s creativity.

A musical-theatrical project Doux Souvenir and a dance project The Epoch of Michal Cleophas will create festive atmosphere of secular balls of the beginning of the 19th century.

A book exhibition "Read all Mickiewicz’s works..." which will call upon read all his works will open as part of a literary event. The exhibition will display about 300 documents including publications of the 19th and 20th centuries, numerous portraits of Adam Mickiewicz and illustrations made by famous artists for his works. A special place of the exhibition will take publications of the immortal poems of Mickiewicz’s Pan Tadeusz, Grazhina, Conrad Wallenrod which have been published at different times.

We present the updated virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region": on the 205th anniversary of the composer's birth

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.
