On October 19, the X International Congress "Library as a Cultural Phenomenon" dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation was inaugurated in the main library of the country.

At the congress, it is planned to discuss the development of libraries in the national digital ecosystem; the formation of an information culture of users; regulatory support for library activities; statistical accounting; consider innovative approaches to the organization of funds, user service; analyze the main directions of research activities of libraries, professional competencies of library specialists in modern conditions, and much more.

The organizers of the event are the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus, the National Library of Belarus with the participation of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS member states and the Belarusian Library Association.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to July 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
