On the eve of the Independence Day of Belarus (3 July), the National Library offers the thematic book exhibition “Belarus Today”.


About 200 editions are on display. The exposition includes editions about the formation of the State system of Belarus, its social, economic, scientific and cultural achievements, foreign policy and external economic relations. The exhibition reflects the best traditions of the Belarusian people and the unique natural resources of the country.

The thematic section The country of Belarusincludes editions on the history of Belarus, social and political literature about the current state of the country and the ways of its further development.

The section The lovely images of my native land is dedicated to Belarusian forest reserves, the beauty and diversity of Belarusian nature and environment protection. The section comprises sources about national parks and forest reserves.

The last section The modern portrait of Belarusian culture and arts presents books about the country’s cultural and historical heritage, architectural monuments and sights; encyclopedias, photo albums, booklets reflecting its attractive image.

Readers and visitors have an opportunity to get acquainted with the latest books published by Belarusian publishing houses in last three years.

The exhibition is designed for a wide audience.

The exposition is located on the second floor in the circular hall and runs from 27 June to 11 September, 2013.

The quest tour "The road of the Great Victory"

On May 15, on the International Family Day, the National Library of Belarus was visited by members of the Belarusian Association of parents with many children in the Pervomaisky district of Minsk. They took part in the quest tour "The road of the Great Victory", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
