In 2024, Russia celebrates an important historical date – the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade. In order to transfer knowledge about the heroic page of Russian history to new generations, the All-Russian State Library of Foreign Literature named after M. I. Rudomino announces a contest dedicated to this significant event.
Dear visitors of the library, we invite you to participate in the contest of children's compositions and drawings dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade.
Until January 25, 2024, participants from 10 to 18 years old are invited to write an essay about the difficult days of the siege of the hero city of Leningrad. The essay can be written in any language. Exemplary topics can be stories about the resilience, strength of spirit of the city's residents and their unprecedented feat, about the daily life of residents under siege, about heroes of labor, about soldiers-defenders and liberators, about the cultural life of the besieged city, about figures of science and culture who continued to create in besieged Leningrad. The essay is complemented by an illustration.
The application for participation in the contest is submitted in electronic form. The winners of the contest will be determined based on the results of the jury's work on February 10, 2024 and announced on the website of the Library of Foreign Literature.
