On June 29, 2009, in the framework of an official visit to Belarus a delegation of the Verkhovna Rada оf Ukraine headed by Chairman V.M. Litvin visited National Library of Belarus.




Representatives of the delegation made an excursion of the Library and got acquainted with its history, information resources and equipment.  

The guests viewed peculiar architecture and interior decorations of the Library building and learned about user service and social and cultural activity of National Library of Belarus. In the Museum of a Book the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada оf Ukraine wrote an entry to the Guests’ of Honor Book: “I’m impressed by the treasury of intellect. I wish you to keep shining wisely, kindly and eternally. Good luck!”.

At the end of the excursion the guests ascended the Observation platform and admired the panorama of Minsk.

The quest tour "The road of the Great Victory"

On May 15, on the International Family Day, the National Library of Belarus was visited by members of the Belarusian Association of parents with many children in the Pervomaisky district of Minsk. They took part in the quest tour "The road of the Great Victory", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.

During the century-long history of the National Library of Belarus, a whole galaxy of highly qualified specialists worked within its walls, through whose efforts the institution has consistently occupied and occupies the main place in the information infrastructure of the republic. One of such important professionals, whose experience has taught more than one generation of librarians, was Iraida Aleksandrovna Korzenko.
