In National Library of Belarus took place events organized by the International union of telecommunication and the Regional commonwealth for communication.


The events included:

  • sessions of the regional preparatory assembly of the CIS countries to the World conference on development of telecommunication (on November, 23-24th);
  • the 41st session of the Council of heads of administrations of communication (on November, 25th);
  • meeting at the summit “Let’s connect the CIS countries!” (on November, 26th).

Presidents of Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, representatives of governments of different countries-members of the CIS, Georgia, and also the International Telecommunications Union, the European Economic Commission of the United Nations, the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank, heads of the branch ministries and heads of 62 companies and organizations from 27 states participated in the events.

The purpose of the events - assistance to development of information technologies in the CIS region, mobilization of human, financial, and technical resources for maintenance of fast transition to a regional digital infrastructure and a digital network of services that is called to become the engine of economic growth and development in the region.

Participants of the events made excursions of National Library of Belarus, during which the guests got acquainted with its information resources, equipment, and architectural features of the building.

The quest tour "The road of the Great Victory"

On May 15, on the International Family Day, the National Library of Belarus was visited by members of the Belarusian Association of parents with many children in the Pervomaisky district of Minsk. They took part in the quest tour "The road of the Great Victory", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
