On June 27, 2009, graduates of the frontier department of Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus received lieutenant’s shoulder straps and adopted frontier troop officer’s Code of honor of the Republic of Belarus. The ceremony was held in the square by National Library of Belarus.
More than 100 young officers of the frontier and other departments of Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus received shoulder straps and anniversary medals “90 Years on the Frontier Guard” from Chairman of the State Frontier Committee Major-General Igor Rachkovsky.
Those who had graduated with honors as well as graduates who had made remarkable achievements in military science, the department’s social life and sport received valuable presents and breastplates “High achiever of frontier guards of the Republic of Belarus”.
On the occasion of the ceremony during which military rank of lieutenant had been conferred to graduates, Patriarchal Exarch of Belarus, Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk Philareth celebrated a public mass.
Representatives of the frontier department command, veterans of frontier troops, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus P.P. Latushko, Director of National Library of Belarus R.S. Motulsky and others participated in the event.
