It will be possible to see the most ancient documentary monuments of universal importance for the first time in Belarus.

Dead Sea scrolls, Bible texts written on papyrus and parchment, cuneiform tablets, valuable medieval European manuscripts, the first printed Bibles from across the world, early printed Polyglots (multilingual texts of Holy Scripture), unique illustrated Bibles of different cultural traditions and, of course, examples of sacral texts of Belarus: all this documents will be presented at the international exhibition "Belarus and the Bible", which will be held at the National Library of Belarus from September 20 to October 21. After all the Bible still remains the most famous and influential book in the history of mankind, besides the most multi-circulation and translated into many languages of the world.

The concerned agreement on cooperation in this area between the National Library of Belarus and the non-governmental organization "The Manuscript Research Group" (USA) was signed on May 25. The ceremony was attended by Roman Motulsky, Director of the National Library, Alexander Susha, Deputy Director, Scott Carroll, Director of the organization "The Manuscript Research Group", David Eddington, CEO of the Inspired project, Pavel Dyachenko, the project organizer, as well as representatives of scientific and public organizations.

It is symbolic that the signing of the agreement coincided with the celebration of the Slavic Literature and Culture Day dedicated to the Remembrance Day of the educators Cyril and Methodius. They translated the Bible into Slavic for the first time and gave our people an opportunity to develop the written language.
