On 5 November at 4 p.m., a literary educative event “Who will be born shall tell the word…” timed to the 80th anniversary of Belarusian writer V. Adamchik is to be held at the gallery Labyrinth (3rd floor).


Vyacheslav Adamchik is one of most outstanding modern writers of Belarus. He belongs to the generation of so called "men of the sixties". The very first publications by Vyacheslav Adamchik manifested the arrival of a new master of the literary word. The result of the writer’s long-term creative work is numerous collections of prose, three novels, some scripts and a theatrical play. The writer also translated into Belarusian the collection of Bulgarian fairytales and some works by Russian writers M. Prishvin, Y. Kazakov, S. Zalygin etc.

The event is arranged by the National Library of Belarus and the State Museum of the History of Belarusian Literature. The event program features the opening of a thematic exhibition of books from the Library’s collections. Our guests will have an opportunity to meet researchers of Vyacheslav Adamchik’s writing and his friends who will share their memories about the writer. Extracts from the author’s books will be read out.

The quest tour "The road of the Great Victory"

On May 15, on the International Family Day, the National Library of Belarus was visited by members of the Belarusian Association of parents with many children in the Pervomaisky district of Minsk. They took part in the quest tour "The road of the Great Victory", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
