From 27 June to 10 July, a book exhibition “Objectivity, exactness, convincingness” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Belarusian scientist Vadim Krutalevich (1922–2006) runs in the Belarusian literature reading room (room 205).


The exhibition consists of three sections: “In search of the truth”, “Talent, convincingness, exactness”, “Life, science, labor”. They present the author’s monographs and publications in periodicals, and also books edited under the editorship of the scientist. The major works are: “The Birth of the Belarusian Soviet Republic (On the Way to the Declaration of Republic. October 1917 – December 1918.)” (1975), “The Birth of the Belarusian Soviet Republic (The Declaration of Republic. The Development of the National State Construction. November 1918 – February 1919 г.)” (1979), “On the Way to National Self-Determination. BNR – BSSR – RB” (1995), “The History of State and Right of Belarus (1917–1945)” (co-author І.А. Yukho, 1998), “The History of Belarus: the Development of National Power (1917–1922.)” (1999, 2003), “About the Belarusian People’s Republic (Analytical Notes and Commentaries)” (2005), “Essays about Belarusian State and Right” (2007, 2009).

Vadim Krutalevich devoted his life to scientific search. He worked in archives and discovered unknown materials on the history of Belarusian power. His books are filled with documentary facts and innovation scientific thought. He was one of those researchers who demand convincingness of exactness.

The last section of the exhibition includes encyclopedic editions dedicated to the life and creative work of scientist-lawyer, historian, sociologist, laureate of the State Prize of Belarus (2000) Vadim Krutalevich.

The quest tour "The road of the Great Victory"

On May 15, on the International Family Day, the National Library of Belarus was visited by members of the Belarusian Association of parents with many children in the Pervomaisky district of Minsk. They took part in the quest tour "The road of the Great Victory", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
