The opening of the exhibition of works by participants of the VII International children and youth competition "КрасаWееk” and the awarding ceremony will be held in the library on April 29th.


The competition was launched in 2011 by the Minsk State Art College named after A. Glebov with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Belarus. The purpose of the competiotin is to reveal talented children and develop their creative skills, and also to maintain young artists.

This year, in light of the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the Belarusian book-printing, the "КрасаWееk” is held in two directions: the competition of works on a free theme and the theme "The heritage of Francysk Skaryna".

At the awarding ceremony, the names of the winners in four categories will be named: "Painting", "Graphics", "Decorative and Applied Arts" and "Sculpture" in three age groups. Diplomas and prizes will be awarderd to not only the winners and laureates of the contest, but also the best teachers and educational institutions that took an active part in the competition.

The winner of the Grand Prix of the competition “КрасаWееk” will receive a special present – a certificate providing free training at the preparatory courses of the Minsk State Art College named after A. Glebov.

The event starts at 12.00 in the gallery “Labyrinth” (3rd floor).

The exposition of the young artists’ works will run till 11 May, 2011.

The quest tour "The road of the Great Victory"

On May 15, on the International Family Day, the National Library of Belarus was visited by members of the Belarusian Association of parents with many children in the Pervomaisky district of Minsk. They took part in the quest tour "The road of the Great Victory", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
