On October 12, the National Library of Belarus hosted the international forum of the Russian Military Historical Society VIO "History for the Future. Russia and Belarus" with the participation of well-known state and public figures, scientists and journalists.
Greetings to the participants, organizers and guests of the forum were sent by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

The program of the forum was rich and interesting: the plenary session "Russia and Belarus facing new challenges and threats", the talk show "IsolentaLive", thematic discussion and educational platforms: "The Code of history: state policy for the preservation of historical memory", "The Code of memory: the ideological function of history", "Information Front: the strategy of the winner", "The Code of the future: how our ideas about the past affect the present", public lecture by Egor Yakovlev "The Nazi genocide of the peoples of the USSR: models, design, implementation".
The participants of the event considered the issues of strengthening cooperation in preserving common history, information opposition to fakes and falsifications of modernity, demonstrating the unity of Belarus and Russia in the face of the challenges of the XXI century, creating a status expert platform for exchanging views on the history and prospects for the development of humanitarian cooperation between Belarus and Russia, the special role of common history in the past, present and future of our countries, discussed modern ideas about the history of statehood of Belarus and Russia, fundamentals of state policy in the field of history and preservation of historical memory.
At the end of the international forum "History for the Future. Russia and Belarus" participants exchanged expert opinions on the prospects and main trends of joint development within the framework of the Union State, discussed the results of the work and adopted a resolution in which they emphasized the role of the forum in strengthening cooperation between our countries in preserving common history and cultural values, outlined areas of joint activity in the field of dissemination of scientific knowledge and strengthening their influence on development of innovative thinking and social activity of citizens of Belarus and Russia, in the organization of educational work with young people.
