Mr Aron Dukor was born in 1905 in Minsk. He began his career at the age of 17: he worked for 10 years as a printer in the printing house named after Stalin, later – in the printing house of the Council of People's Commissars of the BSSR.

Ms Radevich was born in Minsk to a family of an office employee. When the Great Patriotic War began, Tamara's father went to the front, and his mother and family had to evacuate to the Urals. Like many Belarusians, the girl survived all the horrors of war.

Fyodor Stepanyuk was born in 1905 in the village of Chersk, Brest region of the BSSR. During the First World War in 1915, he and his parents moved to the village of Efimovka, Buzuluk district, Samara province. There, from the age of 11, Fyodor worked for 5 years as a shepherd for hire.

Her mother, Inna, worked as an assistant professor in the Department of Education and Psychology at Hrodna State University, and her father, Aliaksej Karpyiuk, was Secretary of the Hrodna branch of the BSSR Writers' Union.
