Exhibition Engraving: Lembit Lõhmus and the Viennese School

The exhibition presents subtle and perfect graphic works of contemporary artists, made in the technique of classical engraving.

In Belarus, engraving was practised by Tomash Makouski, Aliaksandr and Liavonci Tarasievich, Maksim Voshchanka and others. Today, there are practically no Belarusian craftsmen working in this very complex technique.

The core of the exhibition consists of modern artworks from the private collection of bibliophile Alieh Sudliankou.

The latest releases of the collection are dedicated to the People's poet of Belarus Pimen Panchenko on the 105th anniversary of his birth. The Minsk Watch Factory took the first collection of the poet's poems as the basis of the design – "Upewnenast" in 1938, in which the beauty and wealth of the native land are glorified.
